The ideal candidate in the role of Application Developer is a hands-on coder, who would be able to work independently or work in a team of other application developers and various project stakeholders.

In addition, analyze and develop specifications for the enhancement, maintenance and problem solving for the most complex insurance calculations.

Analyze existing products and recommend modifications which will enhance performance and meet business requirements.

Requirements:

● Strong Analytical Skills;
● Experience with life insurance and/or financial services preferred;
● Mathematical and computational experience preferred;
● Experience with functional programming languages (VP/MS, Scala, Haskell, etc.);
● Experience with object oriented programming;
● Experience with CI & CD (Git, Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory);
● Experience with Java, Python, and/or C++;
● Experience with Excel and VBA;
● Experience with Linux;
● Experienced in Java RESTful API’s;
● Strong technical acumen in implementing enterprise applications and software integration.

Education and Experience:

● BS/BA required (STEM Preferred);
● Minimum 2 to 5 years as a backend developer designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications;
● Minimum 2 to 5 years of mathematical and computational experience;
● Independent and self-starter with experience in an agile/adaptable environment.
